Working Seer Hat On A String
Named for the See-er, an oracle or soothsayer. Constructed from sandwiched wool crombie, nylon bomber and Italian cotton dogtooth
Based on a 1940s British army hat made for Sikh soldiers, conical in shape so that a turban could be wound around it. Cotton drawstring run through the brim allows the hat to be hung around the neck or worn across the shoulder as a waist pouch.
Garment pigment dye fully dyes the cotton lining, drawstring, and sewing threads, but only subtly colours the nylon and wool fabrics.
